10 Meter Ladder Line J Pole Antenna

Image
Now that HF propagation has improved in the early stages of Solar Cycle 25, it may be a good time to build a simple J Pole Antenna for the 10 Meter Amateur Radio Band. Steve (AD4XT) takes us through a complete antenna build and field test for this easy-to-make HF antenna. Here are some comments from Steve (AD4XT): 5,648 views Dec 14, 2022 Easy to build 10 Meter vertical antenna. A start to finish antenna build of a ladder line J pole antenna cut for the 10 meter band. I also follow up with a few of the contacts that I made in the ARRL 10M Contest. An excellent antenna for local ground wave communication or chasing DX. ----- Thanks for joining us today. The HAMSTICK Commander-Build a Multiband Vertical Hamstick Antenna

Image
A thoroughly awesome, easy-to-understand look at an unusual stealth antenna for radio amateurs living in deed-restricted housing. In this often humorous video, Sean Klechak (W9FFF) shows us how simple "hamstick" antennas can be used as barely noticeable outcrops of your back lawn for basic HF operations. After testing and a brief explanation, I provide build instructions. I did this video with the intentions of providing information to someone who may not have built an antenna before. I say 3/8 -24 is course thread, when instead, it's fine. thanks f...

Invisible 5 Band HF Antenna

Thanks to Peter Waters (G3OJV) for this intriguing, simple antenna for radio amateurs living in deed-restricted housing. The end-fed halfwave antenna, coupled with a suitable unun and a sturdy antenna transmatch (i.e. "tuner), can get you on the air without drawing attention from your neighbors. Build an HF Loop Antenna for camping.

Image
I have always been a fan of full-wave HF Loop Antennas, especially when I can "go to the field" and hang lots of wire in trees and other tall structures. In this video from K7SW, we get a full start to finish discussion of designing, building, testing, and using a full-wave antenna for the 80-meter Amateur Radio Band.  Of course, you will need a lot of "open space" for this antenna, but the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages of such a large antenna. If you can't see the video, please insert this title URL into your browser search box:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDMRFbEGlsw Here are some comment from K7SW: 8,591 views Aug 21, 2022 On this camping trip, I take the parts required to setup and test this 80 meter full wave loop antenna. Starting out with 288 feet, I trim this antenna to 280 for my location. The tree supports were a max of 25 feet at this test location for POTA K-4397 I take some measurements and get to use this antenna to see if it ...

80 Meter Sloper Antenna

Image
If you have only one antenna support, you may want to try a sloper antenna for your ham radio operations. Del (W8AMZ) makes and markets a sturdy, easily-erected 80 Meter Sloper antenna that may interest you. If you can't see the video, please insert this title URL into your browser search box:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8EVAzMlCAM. Here are some comments from Del (W8AMZ): This shortened 80m sloper is an ideal compromise antenna to get you active on 80m. Do you want decent performance on 80 meters? If you have 25' of height you can be on top band with this fantastic reduced length sloper antenna. The feedpoint of this antenna needs to be up about 25-30 feet. The antenna itself slopes for 34 feet away from the feed. This antenna can hand up to 1 KW PEP on SSB. It does provide very good band width for 80m operation. The 80m Reduced Half Sloper loads better then 200khz at 2.1:1 SWR or less when properly trimed/tuned without a tuner. ---- Thanks for joining us today...
