Vertical extended double zepp antenna for 2 metres FM (and more!)
If you can't see the video, please insert this title URL into your browser search box: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-t8NBL67fc. This is post 2092 in a continuing series on simple ham radio antennas. In this video, Australian radio amateur Peter Parker (VK3YE) shows us how to make a simple, effective omnidirectional vertical antenna for VHF FM simplex and repeaters. The extended double zepp exhibits a modest amount of gain--just enough to hit distant repeaters and perhaps work a bit of 2 meter DX. Most of the antenna's materials can be found in your junk box or at the nearest building supply outlet.
