Testing the W3EDP Mini-Antenna using 450 Ohm Ladder Line
Thanks to Gil of "RadioPreppers.com" for this fascinating modification of the "classic" W3EDP multiband HF antenna. Construction and testing of this "Mini-W3EDP Antenna" are straight forward. Just follow the instructions in the video. If you can't see the video, please insert this title URL into your browser search box: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgInZdN_DD0. Here are some comments from Gil: This antenna has evolved from the original W3EDP, itself inspired by the ZEPP, and uses an impedance matching section made of ladder-line and a 4:1 BALUN. In this video I go the the Island of St Marguerite by sailboat and test the antenna on the boat as well as on land. Performance is as expected, not great, but it works and is practical, easy to build and use, as well as cheap. My original W3EDP video: • W3EDP Antenna with RT-320.
