Here are some comments from Gil: This antenna has evolved from the original W3EDP, itself inspired by the ZEPP, and uses an impedance matching section made of ladder-line and a 4:1 BALUN. In this video I go the the Island of St Marguerite by sailboat and test the antenna on the boat as well as on land. Performance is as expected, not great, but it works and is practical, easy to build and use, as well as cheap.
