Thanks to Johnny ("Signal Search") for this introduction to portable field antennas.  Johnny does a great job of describing his favorite "take with you" HF antennas. His list includes a homemade "L-Dipole Antenna", a Sotabeam linked dipole, and an end-fed wire.  These antennas are easy to build, fairly inexpensive, and completely portable.
