ps:// If you're having trouble viewing this video, please insert this URL into your browser search box: https://youtu.be/PPnVp1kasJ4. A basic half square antenna tutorial from Vince Loschiavo. This antenna fires broadside to the two vertical elements and offers some directivity . Basically, the antenna consists of two vertical 1/4 wavelength elements joined at the top by a 1/2 wavelength phasing section. The antenna is fed at one of the top corners of the antenna. Vince outlines several combinations for 40, 20, and 15 meters. He also supplies the appropriate EZNEC plots to provide basic performance data. I've built several half square antennas for 15 and 20 meters and was impressed how well they performed. For the latest Amateur Radio news and events, please check out the blog sidebars.
