Build the Frankentenna!
If you need a simple, effective, and light weight vertical antenna for your next POTA/SOTA operation, please consider what Michael Martens (KB9VBR) calls his "Frankentenna." The antenna consists of several left over parts from other antennas. Despite the mixture of parts from other projects, this easily-assembled antenna works remarkable well. This antenna is suitable for both field and home use. If you can't see the video, please insert this title URL into your browser search box: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-axDUs-0Yg. Thanks for joining us today. Aloha es 73 de Russ (KH6JRM). Here are a few comments from Michael (KB9VBR): The Frankentenna consists of parts from three different antennas to create a 25 foot tall vertical non resonant radiator that when combined with a remote antenna tune results in amazing performance on the bands. Join me at the Plover River State Fishery and Wildlife Area (POTA US-10054) in North Central Wisconsin as I put this park on the air.
