This is post 2089 in a continuing series of articles on simple ham radio antennas. Here's another HF antenna idea that may prove useful at your QTH. In this well-made and easily understandable video, Kevin Loughin (KB9RLW) explores the folded dipole antenna from both a theoretical and practical point of view. The antenna is a good match for 450-ohm window line (ladder line) or even 300-ohm television twin lead. Kevin has listed a few observations and suggestions about this antenna: "In all the years I've been playing radio, I've never built a folded dipole. Boy have I been missing out!
