Thanks to Pityu Nagy for this beautiful, efficient, and effective antenna for 145 MHz. This 2 meter antenna should give you about 3dB gain over a 1/4 wave length vertical antenna and considerably more gain over the "rubber duck" (stock) antenna that came with your HT. Here are some of Pity's observations: "A 5/8 wave J-pole antenna, that I made from copper tubing, a piece of steel wire from a mobile CB antenna, and other stuff. Works very well, has a SWR of 1.2-1. And also what I like about it, is that I can earth it at the bottom, so it's "lightning protected". 73!" ----- For the latest Amateur/Ham Radio news and information, please visit these websites: http://www.HawaiiARRL.info. http://www.arrl.org. http://www.blubrry.com/arrlaudionews/ http://www.hamradioupdate.com. http://www.southgatearc
