Building a slinky vertical dipole antenna for HF Ham Radio.
Radio amateurs have used many material for ham radio antennas.
In this video, Walt (N4OGO) uses two common, metal slinky toys to create a vertical dipole. With a few modifications, this field expedient antenna works very well.
Walt takes you through the entire construction, testing, and use phases of this somewhat unusual antenna. Of course, other antenna configurations using better metals, such as copper or aluminum, would perform better.
But when you must get on the air, the common slinky toy will do the job.
