Building a 2 meter antenna (from a broom).

Here's a fascinating father/daughter antenna project courtesy of a broom handle, wire, some pieces of pvc pipe, and various materials collected from a workroom.

Strange as it seems, this project is simple, elegant, and dirt cheap!

Many thanks to the "Transmitting Until Robots Replace Us" website for this intriguing experiment.

Here are a few comments from the video producer:

We built a 2m dipole antenna out of a broom handle, pvc and some other small pieces that we had laying around the house. Ham radio is such a wonderful hobby in part because simple builds like this are possible. No need for complicated and expensive builds... unless you want to! This amateur radio antenna's SWR turned out to be between 1.2 and 1.5 across the whole band, so not too bad.
