Half Square Antenna Tips and Tricks.


Here's another great antenna article from Peter Waters (G3OJV).

In this video, Peter shows us how to build a half square antenna which fits into a small backyard and delivers 3dB of gain in two directions (front and back).

The antenna is simple to build and and can be used both at your home station and "in the field."

The Half Square antenna is capable of fitting into a small space, and this 20m version offers 3dB gain in two directions. It requires only 10m garden length and can be configured to also operate on 40m, 15m and 10m as well as 20m. Even 80m operation is possible with a simple home made add-on.
