Wire loop on the ground for HF receiving: How good?

If you live in a high noise area and can't receive HF signals very well, please try this loop on ground antenna from Australian radio amateur Peter Parker (VK3YE).

Peter completes a series of tests to determine just how much noise this antenna attenuates.  As Peter suggests, your results may vary.

The antenna is cheap and can be positioned in a few minutes.

Here are some comment from Peter (VK3YE):

A wire loop on the ground as a receiving antenna? How well does it work? Here I give it a test. FRONT socket connected to wire loop, REAR socket connected to G5RV.
