Andy's Workshop-HF Magnetic Loop Antenna

Thanks to Andy (VK2AAK) and Bruce (VK2EM) for these "square" magnetic loop HF antennas.  According to Andy, one loop covers 14 MHz to 30 MHz, while the other works best at 50-54 MHz.

This is post 2376 in a continuing series of simple ham radio antennas.

Here are some comments from Andy (VK2AAK):

Mechanical details for a couple of simple home made magnetic loop antennas. One covering from around 14 MHz up to beyond 30 MHz, the other covering the 6m band. These loops were both originally built by Bruce VK2EM who kindly gifted them to me. I subsequently made some mechanical changes, added the square feed loops along with a reduction drive and a switch to add some fixed capacitance. The antennas are ideal for portable and QRP use up to 30 to 40 Watts depending on the variable capacitor used.
