Field expedient 40 meter dipole antenna

This is post 2492 in a continuing series of simple ham radio antennas.

Thanks to "SurvivalComms" for this simple, effective 40 meter dipole made from surplus WD-1 field phone wire.  The antenna is easily made from whatever wire you have handy.  Eighteen gauge speaker wire can be used as well.

It will only take a few minutes to build this antenna, which then can be placed in your emergency "go-kit".

Make one for your home station just in case your regular antenna succumbs to a weather emergency.  With a little luck, you can find usable wire at garage sales, public recycling centers, or even at neighborhood discount stores.
