As this video shows, you don't have to spend a lot of money to build a simple, effective antenna for the 20 meter band. This radio amateur and his father worked together to design, build, install, and use a basic antenna made from locally available resources for access to the popular 20 meter ham band. Similar construction techniques can be used for any HF amateur radio band. This antenna is suitable for both home and portable operations.
