Over the past few years, I've featured several videos and extended articles on mobile operations using amateur/ham radio. The one area I didn't cover was how to install amateur/ham radio equipment on a boat. Boat mobile seems like an interesting way to contact our fellow radio amateurs. In this video from Captain Cefus McRae, we see how to install a VHF transceiver and antenna on an open water vessel. If you take your boat on a lake or even into the ocean, it pays to take along a VHF transceiver and some amateur/radio equipment just in case you run into an emergency. This video offers a quick, simple installation that will make sure you have emergency communications handy when you need them.
