Simple Ham Radio Antennas--The Earchi S9 vertical antenna. Post #939.
If you're unable to view this video, please insert this title link into your browser search box: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1j2Re62Abc. Here's another antenna for those whose horizontal space limitations preclude a half=wavelength dipole. In this video, "The Radio Hobbyist" shows us how a 31-foot/9.45 meters fiberglass pole from LDG electronics can be configured into a 40-6 meter vertical antenna. The secret to this antenna's operation is a trifilar-wound 9:1 UNUN (unbalanced to unbalanced) toroid match transformer that will match the end-fed wire supported by the S9v31 fiberglass mast. This inexpensive, lightweight (4 pounds/1.81 kilograms), end-fed antenna is easily assembled and taken down. This antennas can be used for portable, emergency, or even home use.
