Simple Ham Radio Antennas--Vertical Antenna 5/8 wave for 15 mtr ham radio band, Part 2. Post #584.
If you're having trouble viewing this video, please insert this URL into your browser search box: https://youtu.be/ArigfAFVu84. This is part 2 of Tommy Horozakis's tutorial on how to design, build, erect, and use a vertical 5/8 wave antenna for the 15 meter ham radio band. His initial design and test produced some strong signals at his QTH. The project is simple and involves only a few parts from your "junkbox" or from the nearest hardware store or home improvement outlet. This would make a great weekend project. If you build this antenna carefully, you could get a theoretical 3 dB signal gain over a 1/4 vertical antenna. Don't forget to install a radial ground or counterpoise system.
