If you're not quite up to building a vertical antenna from "scratch", an antenna kit may be the best way to go. In this video by "Tinker John" (W5CYF), we learn how to build and test the S9v Antenna Kit. This video is part one of a two-part series on the S9v. It's important to follow each step of assembly and testing. "Tinker John" says the S9v Vertical Antenna works well, is fairly quiet, and "tx/rx is outstanding."
